The link they deleted

In April 2026, one Wikipedia account quietly removed the sentence tying the fugitive child-molester to the guru whose sect he ran. The people now insisting the two are unconnected are reading a page the connection was deleted from.

CONFIRMEDa topic-dedicated account removed the sourced Prakashanand–Kripalu link, and the founder’s own sex-charges, from two Wikipedia pages in April 2026CONFIRMEDthe deleted text itself called Prakashanand “one of Kripalu’s disciples,” and the still-standing Radha Madhav Dham article calls that temple JKP’s US arm, founded by himINFERENCEthe removals are coordinated reputation management; a single hand behind every account cannot be proven without non-public CheckUser data

Read the comment threads under the video and you will find the same objection, stated with confidence: these are two different gurus, and there is no connection between them at an organizational level. It is worth knowing where that certainty comes from. On April 20, 2026, a Wikipedia account named Sgrao1 opened the Kripalu Maharaj article and deleted the paragraph that spelled the connection out.

The deletion

The removed sentence read: “One of Kripalu’s Disciples, Prakashanand Saraswati, was convicted of groping two young girls in his ashram in Hays County, Texas. A 12-person jury declared Saraswati guilty of 20 counts of child molestation.” Deleted with it were the Times of India and KXAN citations and a line noting that Peter Spiegel had posted the guru’s ten-million-dollar bond. The edit summary: “there does not appear to be any linkage between the subject… and the individual mentioned.” Three days later the same account did the same thing to the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat article, this time with the summary “There is no connection between the individual… and the founder of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat.”

Kripalu Maharaj · revision 1350118569 · April 20, 2026
−One of Kripalu’s Disciples, Prakashanand Saraswati, was convicted of groping two young girls in his ashram in Hays County, Texas. A 12-person jury declared Saraswati guilty of 20 counts of child molestation… Peter Spiegel posted his $10 million bond.
Edit summary: there does not appear to be any linkage between the subject… and the individual mentioned  by account Sgrao1. See the diff on Wikipedia ↗

CONFIRMEDBoth removals are public Wikipedia diffs: Kripalu Maharaj, oldid 1350118569 and Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, oldid 1350675131, both by the account Sgrao1, April 2026.

A rationale the record refutes

The sentence the account deleted is the proof the account said did not exist: it called Prakashanand one of Kripalu’s disciples, sourced to the Times of India. And the connection survives elsewhere on Wikipedia, on a page the scrub left alone. The Radha Madhav Dham article states, in the present tense, that Radha Madhav Dham is the main ashram of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat for the United States, that it was founded by Prakashanand Saraswati, and that the organization changed its name from Barsana Dham in April 2011, after his conviction. When an editor tried to strip that too, in 2024, an established Wikipedian reverted it the same day. The chain is not a theory: Kripalu founded the sect, the sect’s American ashram was founded by Prakashanand, and Prakashanand was Kripalu’s disciple. The deletion is the only thing that makes any of it look absent.

Radha Madhav Dham · the paragraph the scrub could not hold
+Radha Madhav Dham is the main ashram of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat for the United States… founded by Prakashanand Saraswati… the organization changed its name from Barsana Dham in April 2011, after his conviction.
Removed in 2024 by account Slal13 (Removed negative information which tarnishes the reputation of the organization), reverted the same day and standing today.

The founder’s own history, gone too

The same account did not stop at the disciple. Over the following days it removed Kripalu Maharaj’s own recorded sex-crime arrests, where the charges were dropped: a 1990s arrest in Nagpur, cited to Indian court records, and a 2007 rape arrest in Trinidad, cited to the Hindustan Times report “Sex charges against Swami dropped.” Each was removed with a reason, that the charges had been dropped, that it did not qualify as a controversy. On the Kripalu Maharaj page, the entire controversies section is now gone, and it has not been restored.

CONFIRMEDThe removed citations are archived: the Hindustan Times “Sex charges against Swami dropped” (Ramoutar, 28 July 2007) at the Internet Archive, the Times of India molestation-conviction report at archive, and the KXAN report at archive.

The accounts

Sgrao1 is not a general Wikipedia editor. Of about a hundred and ten edits, nearly all are on Kripalu Maharaj, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, Prem Mandir, Barsana, and Vishakha Tripathi, the guru’s named successor; the account went dormant the day it finished. On the Prakashanand Saraswati page, a second account, named Abhishek.digitalmedia, registered and eleven minutes later made its only edit: deleting the words “convicted child molester” from the first line. Established editors reverted it. And this is not new: in 2023 a Wikipedia administrator placed a conflict-of-interest tag on the Kripalu article, noting it had been “heavily edited by editors associated with the organization,” and listing a dozen single-purpose accounts, one of them named JagadguruKripaluParishat.

The timing

The Kripalu and JKP scrubs came in April 2026, months before the exposé. The edits that came after it are the tell. As the video spread in late August, the Prakashanand page was hit again, a JKP section was blanked with the summary “slander,” and, when other editors restored the JKP allegations on August 27, one of them added a new line: an August 2026 investigation by the YouTuber known as Reckless Ben, naming Ideal Living and its chief executive Peter Spiegel as the sect’s financial backer. (In the interest of disclosure: this map is a companion to that investigation.) Spiegel is the hinge. He is named in the paragraph that was deleted in April, and in the paragraph that replaced it in August.

In fairness. Wikipedia is open to anyone, and every account named here is pseudonymous; nothing establishes who is behind them, and proving a single hand across accounts would require CheckUser data that is not public. Editors are entitled to argue in good faith that a source is weak or that a dropped charge does not belong in an encyclopedia, and some of these removals cited real Wikipedia policies. What is not in dispute is the public diff record: what was removed, when, by which account, and with what stated reason. Established editors reverted most of the attempts, and the material removed was sourced to mainstream outlets.
