AquaTru Sponsors Chris Hansen and Megyn Kelly. AirDoctor Sponsors the Therapists.

From the programs’ own episode notes: the predator-catcher, the true-crime host, three licensed clinicians, a neuroscientist and two parenting shows, each with a promo code, each dated. The company whose founders bonded out a convicted child molester buys its trust where trust is sold.

A purifier is a trust purchase. Nobody can see what it removes, so the sale rests on who says it works. Ideal Living’s two brands buy that trust in a particular place: programs whose hosts are believed because of what they do about children and the mind. The reads below are quoted from the shows’ own published notes, 481 of them across six programs. The dates are theirs. So are the codes, which is how each sale is traced back to each host.

CONFIRMEDEvery sponsorship below is taken from the program’s own published episode notes or first-party page, captured September 2, 2026, with the quoted read, the code and the first and last dates; the captures and a line-by-line ledger of all 481 reads are hosted below.
CONFIRMEDThe AirDoctor claims on Mayim Bialik’s page and AirDoctor’s own site are quoted verbatim. The Newsweek Readers’ Choice items are from AirDoctor’s press page.
UNRESOLVEDWhat any host knew about the company’s founders, and whether any has been asked. Sponsorship reads are placed by agencies and read from copy; nothing here suggests otherwise.

Two entries carry their own weight. Chris Hansen, whose public identity is catching men who prey on children, has read for both brands since February 2, 2026, most recently on September 2, 2026: “Head to AquaTru.com & use code HANSEN for 20% off your purifier and a 30-day best-tasting water guarantee.” Megyn Kelly’s show began the same AquaTru read, with code MKC, on August 13, 2026, two weeks before Reckless Ben’s documentary, and was still carrying it on September 2, 2026. The clinicians are the volume: the therapist Amy Morin has read the copy 255 times since June 3, 2024 (“use promo code STRONGER to get UP TO $300 off today!”), and the Calm Parenting Podcast 166 times since May 5, 2024.

What the copy says

The claim travels intact. Mayim Bialik’s promotions page for AirDoctor, live today, reads: “In third-party laboratory testing conducted by MRIGlobal, AirDoctor 3000 removed 99.97% of the live SARS-CoV-2 virus from the air in a test chamber. AirDoctor 3000 removed 99.99% of tested bacteria & viruses, including H1N1 in third-party laboratory testing,” and offers “35% off the Classic Air Doctor 3000” with “promo code breakdown.” AirDoctor’s own site says the machine “Eliminates 99.99% of tested viruses and bacteria, significantly reducing the risk of illness.” A virus-kill claim is a health claim, and the Federal Trade Commission’s 2022 health-products guidance says such claims need randomized, controlled human testing; a test chamber is not that. The same claim is what made the AirDoctor a “pesticide device” under federal law, the labeling violation for which the company paid a $44,500 penalty in 2021, described in The machine. The endorsers repeat the claim in their own voices.

The seal is bought the same way. Newsweek’s Readers’ Choice list placed AirDoctor first on August 1, 2024, fourth on June 5, 2025 (AirDoctor’s press page headlined that one “AirDoctor Wins Newsweek Again”), and first again on April 22, 2026. The program is a voting promotion run by the magazine’s rankings and licensing side; its own page says nominees are “selected by Newsweek’s editorial team,” and its rules say each winner “will be given the opportunity to purchase a license” for the badge. The 2025 list came four months after two of the magazine’s reporters were drafting a story about the company’s founder that never ran, and the reporter who wrote “our editor was very pleased” was laid off five days later; see the Newsweek emails.

Why it matters

The founders of Ideal Living, Peter Spiegel and Katie Williams, were officers of the organization whose guru was convicted in 2011 on twenty counts of indecency with a child and fled; Spiegel guaranteed his bond. That record is set out across this site. None of it appears in any ad read. What appears instead is the borrowed credibility of a man who catches predators on camera, a host whose true-crime series is about predators, and clinicians whose licenses are the reason their listeners trust them. Each of them can be asked one question, and each has a code that makes the question specific: did you know, and do you still take the money?

In fairness, both directions. Podcast sponsorships are sold by agencies and read from supplied copy; nothing here shows that any host knew who owns the company or what its founders did, and none has been accused of anything. AirDoctor’s laboratory claims are the company’s; the purifiers may work as well as any. AquaTru holds independent certification for its water filters. The question raised is one the hosts can answer, not one this site answers for them.
