Seventeen Sites Bury the Conviction. Their Admin Accounts Are Ideal Living’s Own Email Addresses.

Seventeen websites carry the founders’ names and fill the search results with travel writing about temples. Each one publishes, in its own code, the email address of the account that runs it: peter@idealliving.com, katiew@idealliving.com, and a webmaster Gmail built from Peter Spiegel’s name.

Type Peter Spiegel’s name into a search engine with the word Barsana, or guru, or swami, or Saraswati, and you meet a wall of gentle prose about Hindu architecture. That wall is seventeen domains. This site has reported their existence since The burial. What was missing was who runs them. WordPress answers the question itself: every one of these sites publishes its author account, and the account carries a fingerprint of the email address it was created with. Seven of them resolve to peter@idealliving.com. Five resolve to webmasters.peterspiegel@gmail.com. The five built on Katie Williams’s name resolve to katiew@idealliving.com.

CONFIRMEDSeventeen sites in the two founders’ names publish an author account through WordPress. The account’s avatar address contains a cryptographic hash of the email it was registered with. Three addresses account for all seventeen, and two of them are at idealliving.com.
CONFIRMEDEvery site tags its posts with the same keyword set, which includes “Peter Spiegel Barsana Dham Scandal.” The tag exists on sites whose only articles are about temple architecture and hiking.
CONFIRMEDThe Spiegel domains were registered on September 28, 2023, two days after Ideal Living, Spiegel and Williams sued the whistleblower’s partner. The Williams domains were registered on May 13, 2025, within seven seconds of one another.
CONFIRMEDEvery article on every Spiegel site was last edited on the same day, December 17, 2025. The keyword tags were built in two passes, dated by the public web archive: the tag naming the word scandal first appears between February 10 and May 19, 2025.
INFERENCEThat the operation was run by or for the two named executives. An email address on an account identifies the mailbox it was opened with, not the person at the keyboard.

How a website tells you who owns it

WordPress hands any visitor a list of its authors at /wp-json/wp/v2/users. That list never prints an email address. It prints an avatar link, and inside the link is a hash: the address run through a one-way function. You cannot reverse it. You can test guesses against it, however, and a correct guess’s hash will match identically to the hash on the site. No password, no tool, nothing the sites did not volunteer.

Two schemes appear because Gravatar moved from MD5 to SHA-256 between the two batches. Nothing but those addresses produces those strings, and you do not have to take that on trust: paste the address into any public hash tool and compare. MD5 here, SHA-256 here. The author lists are at each site’s own /wp-json/wp/v2/users.

What the seventeen are for

The domains are not named for a business. They are named for a search. Barsana Dham. Guru. Hindu. Hindu temple. Saraswati. Swami. Texas. Those are the words a person types when they have heard something about a chief executive and a Hindu sect and they want to know what it was. Prakashanand Saraswati is the man who was convicted in Hays County, Texas in March 2011 on twenty counts of indecency with a child, and who fled before sentencing on a bond Peter Spiegel had guaranteed. Somebody bought the address peterspiegelsaraswati.com, and the .net, and the .org.

The technique is old and it is cheap. A domain that exactly matches a search phrase ranks for that phrase. Buy the phrase in three extensions, put a few pages of harmless material on each, and you have manufactured results that you control and that sit above the ones you do not. The content does not have to persuade anyone. It only has to exist, be indexable, and occupy the space. That is why the articles read the way they do: “Radha Rani Temple Through the Eyes of Peter Spiegel.” “Hike Like a Pro with Travel Guru Peter Spiegel’s Trail Insights.” “Peter Spiegel Explores the Hindu Temples in Texas.” Seventeen domains carry roughly twenty articles between them. It was never a publication. It is a fence.

The tag that gives it away

Every site carries the same tag list, identical from domain to domain, which means one hand applied it. Thirteen on peterspiegelbarsanadham.org:

The twelve that describe the subjectThe thirteenth
Peter Spiegel · Barsana Dham · Peter Spiegel Barsana Dham · Peter Spiegel Guru · peter spiegel guru Texas · Peter Spiegel Hindu · Peter Spiegel Hindu Guru · Peter Spiegel Hindu Temple · peter spiegel hindu temple Texas · peter spiegel saraswati · peter spiegel swami · peter spiegel TexasPeter Spiegel Barsana Dham Scandal
its own page at /tag/peter-spiegel-barsana-dham-scandal/

A tag is a targeting instruction. You attach it to a piece of writing so that the writing surfaces when someone searches that phrase. The two articles carrying this one are about visiting a temple in India and about the spiritual essence of Barsana Dham. Neither mentions a scandal, because there is nothing in them to mention. The tag is not describing the article. It is naming the search it wants to intercept. Whoever built these sites knew the word people were typing, and built a page to meet them there.

The keyword set was not there at the start. It was built in two passes, and because these are public pages, independent crawls of the open web date each one. The writing never changed. Only the targeting did.

What happened, and when

Set the estate against the events around it. Rust marks a moment when the story pressed toward the surface. Blue marks something the record shows was done to the seventeen sites.

Pressure on the storyWork done on the sites

September 26, 2023. Ideal Living, Peter Spiegel and Katie Williams sue David Najar, the partner of the employee who had raised the company’s financial ties to the religious organization and had been fired seven months earlier.

September 28, 2023. At least nine of the domains in Peter Spiegel’s name are created, each through a separately numbered registrar shell. Two days after the suit.

February 6, 2025. A Newsweek reporter emails the whistleblower that the story is going live and may be in the magazine. It never runs. Five days later the reporter who wrote “our editor was very pleased” says publicly that she has been laid off.

May 13, 2025. The five domains in Katie Williams’s name are created, three in a single second and two seven seconds later.

Between February 10 and May 19, 2025. The keyword targeting is rewritten. Archived copies bracket it: on February 10 the site carries the same two tags it had in October 2024, and by May 19 the category has been renamed to Peter Spiegel Barsana Dham and five new tag pages exist, among them Peter Spiegel Barsana Dham Scandal. The five new domains were bought inside that window.

July 11, 2025. A private equity firm takes a stake in Ideal Living and JPMorgan Chase takes a security interest in forty-four of its trademarks, eight weeks after the new domains went up.

December 17, 2025. Every article on every site in Peter Spiegel’s name is re-saved on one day, and five further tags appear: guru Texas, Hindu temple Texas, saraswati, swami, Texas.

August 27, 2026. The documentary publishes.

Through all of it the articles themselves never changed. The last archived copy before the documentary, taken on August 15, 2026, still reads as it did in 2024. Only the domains and the targeting moved, and each time in the weeks after the story had come close to the surface and then stopped. The suit in September 2023 is followed within two days by the first batch. The collapse of the Newsweek story in February 2025 is followed, in the same weeks, by five new domains and by the tag naming the word scandal. This site is not claiming a stated motive; nobody has said why. The sequence is what the record holds.

What this changes

Everything else on this site describes structure. A church that files no return, a donor fund that names no donor, a charity that names no recipient: each of those has a lawful and boring explanation available, and this site has been careful to say so. This is different in kind. Nobody registers peterspiegelsaraswati.com by accident, and nobody creates a tag page for the word scandal without knowing what the scandal is. The seventeen domains are the one part of this record that shows knowledge rather than arrangement.

It also sits beside what this site reported the same day about who the company pays to speak for it: a broadcaster known for catching predators, a national interviewer, and a bench of licensed therapists, reading its ad copy on their own programmes. Credibility bought in front, and the record swept behind.

It also puts a question to people who bought into this company. In July 2025, eight weeks after the Williams domains went up, a private equity firm took a stake in Ideal Living and JPMorgan Chase took a security interest in forty-four of its trademarks. Whether a reputation operation of this size, run from the founders’ own company mailboxes, was disclosed to either of them is a question only they can answer.

And it sits oddly beside the litigation. In September 2023 these plaintiffs went to court over one man’s speech about them and obtained an order restraining it. In the same week, seventeen domains began going up to suppress what a search engine would say about them. Both things can be lawful. They are hard to hold in the same hand.

In fairness, both directions. An email address on a website account identifies the mailbox the account was opened with. It does not prove who sat at the keyboard, and a contractor given a company address would leave the same trace; the third address, a Gmail built from Peter Spiegel’s name, is what an outside webmaster account usually looks like. Reputation management is a legal industry and buying domains in your own name is not an offence. The articles on these sites are innocuous and appear to be original. Nothing here says the sites contain a false statement. Neither Ideal Living, Peter Spiegel nor Katie Williams has been asked by this site to comment and none has made a public statement about these domains; if any of them says the accounts were created without their knowledge, that answer will be published here in full. Prakashanand Saraswati is the only person connected to this story who has been convicted of a crime.

Registration dates are from the domain registry records. The hashes are Gravatar’s, which uses MD5 on the older sites and SHA-256 on the 2025 sites; both are shown above so any reader can repeat the check. The conviction is Hays County, Texas, March 2011; the bond and the flight are set out in The bond.
